Are the Smurfs Working Blue?

Written By: Sy - Aug• 10•11

I can’t figure out the Smurfs and I’m actually surprised that noone else has mentioned this.

What I’m having trouble understanding is why all of the male Smurfs have a purpose that is tied to a personality trait or to a profession, but not the female Smurfs, their only job is just to be a female, and for quite a while there was only one female Smurf, Smurfette. Eventually (I learned from Wikipedia) that the Smurf, Sassette was created to be her companion, but still, her only job also is just to be a female.

So, there are two young female Smurf’s, a gazillion male Smurf’s and only one Papa Smurf, which has to mean that he is everyone’s father.

So does that mean that ย this cartoon is about one old lecherous guy banging enough to create an entire town, or is it about two young nymphos having an entire town of men to themselves? Could there actually be a subliminal message in why they’re colored blue?

Oh well, I’m sure if I see the movie that it will answer all of my questions.

Ahem yes…. Serious concerns… ๐Ÿ˜ I only recently realized that they say “Darling it’s better, down where it’s wetter” in the lyrics of Little Mermaid’s ‘Under the Sea’.

I’ve seen the movie, but did not pick up on that line. Such profound wisdom. How did I miss it?

Thanks mike, I guess I won’t waste my time with the movie then.
